Trine University student succeeds as Beacon Fellow in Rome and encourages others to embrace new challenges

Is imposter syndrome holding you back from an exciting opportunity? Take the advice of Kendra Perkins, a senior management major at Trine University. Trine recently featured her, spotlighting her experience on The Beacon Fellowship in Rome last winter. Maybe now is the time to overcome your fears and tackle a new adventure.

Despite her initial worry that Beacon looked too intimidating, Kendra jumped at the opportunity to consult under a McKinsey Project Lead in Rome for 2 weeks. As leader of her project group, she learned “how to conduct client meetings, how to research information for proposals, and how to construct a client deck…To anyone who is considering an opportunity like this, or something else challenging and scary, go for it! I guarantee you will surprise yourself and be way more equipped to take on whatever it is than you think.”

We’re so happy Kendra overcame her fears and applied for Beacon, and we echo her exhortation and welcome you to apply for our winter and summer programs! You’ll learn key business skills led by an expert consultant and be surrounded by other talented, motivated students like Kendra—what’s stopping you?
